All the expensive watches on this top ten list will set you back millions of dollars, and some of them don’t even have diamonds nor are they made out of gold.
Some of these luxurious timepieces are exquisite, while others are monstrous creations that only the tasteless will admire.
Watches have become a status symbol in today’s materialistic society, gone are the days when watches were simply meant to tell the time…the rich have studded their watches with so many diamonds that they can’t even tell the time anymore…
Now…the watch’s main function is to convey to onlookers…that its owner has lots of money to splash around.
Not all of these watches are grotesque displays of wealth, some are masterpieces of mechanical precision and some are even made with extremely rare materials like meteorite rock.
We all can appreciate the craftsmanship and time it took to create them, but I personally think that these ludicrous price-tags are simply not justifiable.

Bling bling baby! The Hublot Big Bang costs US$5 million, making it the 9th most expensive watch in the world.
The Hublot Big Bang is iced out with an astonishing amount of white diamonds, 1280 baguette diamonds to be exact and each of them weigh at least 3 carats!
One would suspect that rap superstars would go absolutely nuts over this iced out timepiece…
In fact, pop star Beyoncé Knowles purchased this luxury watch and presented it to her husband, rap legend Jay-Z, as a gift for his 43rd birthday.
Vacheron Constantin 57260 – US$8 Million
The Vacheron Constantin 57260 took 8 years to build and it contains 2,800 components.
This artistic timepiece was commissioned for US$8 million, making it the 8th most expensive watch in the world.
It has 57 complications and its case is made out of 18K solid white gold!
It took 3 expert watchmakers to design and create the masterpiece, and it’s definitely one of the most complicated timepieces in existence.
Patek Philippe Ref. 1518 – US$11.1 Million
Patek Philippe are world renowned for their grossly overpriced plain looking watches, and the Patek Philippe 1518 is no exception!
It was bought at an auction for US$11.1 million in 2016, making it the 7th most expensive watch in the world.
The Patek Philippe 1518 is part of a limited edition series, only four were created and each one features a stainless steel case.
This wristwatch was produced in 1941, making it the 1st perpetual calendar chronograph ever produced in a series.
Jacob & Co. Billionaire Watch – US$18 Million
The Jacob & Co. billionaire watch is another insanely iced out watch that’s on this list and it costs US$18 million, making it the 6th most expensive watch in the world.
It’s made out of 18K solid white gold and it’s completely covered in diamonds…260-carats worth of brilliant emerald-cut white diamonds to be exact.
It also features a handcrafted movement comprising of 167 components and 19 jewels.

Patek Philippe Henry Graves Super Complication – US$24 Million
Patek Philippe has another entrant on our list, this time it’s the Henry Graves Super Complication and it fetched US$24 million at an auction, making it the 5th most expensive watch in the world.
This watch has a case made out of 18 carat solid gold, and it was made by Patek Philippe in 1933, for New York banker, Henry Graves Junior.
This intricate watch is one of the most complex watches in the world and it took over 5 years to build.
It has 24 complications and features a perpetual calendar, sunrise and sunset times, as well as a celestial calendar based on the night-sky above Graves’ New York apartment on 5th Avenue.
Chopard 201-Carat Watch – US$25 Million
This monstrous women’s watch is worth US$25 million, making it the 4th most expensive watch in the world.
The Chopard 201-carat watch is comprised of 3 heart-shaped large diamonds; an 11-carat white diamond, a 12-carat blue diamond and a 15-carat pink diamond, as well as 163 carats of smaller sized white and yellow diamonds.
In total, the weight of all the diamonds on this watch amount to 201-carats, hence its name – the Chopard 201-carat watch…how original.
It was sold in 2000 for an unbelievable amount of US$25 million and it contains 874 diamonds in total.
Breguet Marie-Antoinette Grande Complication – US$30 Million
The Breguet Marie-Antoinette Grande Complication is worth US$30 million, making it the 3rd most expensive watch in the world.
Legend has it that the watch was commissioned for French queen, Marie Antoinette, by one of her lovers in 1782.
The watch took over 40 years to craft and unfortunately Marie Antoinette never received her special gift, as she was executed 34 years earlier before the watch was completed in 1827.
The watch is encased in solid gold and features a perpetual calendar, chime and thermometer.
The expensive pocket watch is on display at the L.A. Mayer Museum in Jerusalem.
The Fascination – Graff Diamonds – US$40 Million
The Fascination, created by famous diamond jewelers Graff Diamonds, is worth a mind boggling US$40 million, making it the 2nd most expensive watch in the world!
The watch is made up of 152.96 carats of white diamonds, that includes a flawless pear-shaped 38.13-carat diamond at its center, which can be detached and worn as a ring.

We made it to the number 1 spot on our top ten list…the Hallucination is another Graff Diamonds creation and it’s worth a dizzying US$55 million, making it the most expensive watch in the world!
