Ariana Omipi is a New Zealander from Auckland whose dramatic yo-yo weight loss journey has gathered her a troop of loyal followers on Instagram.
Desperate to be healthy, she managed to lose over 127 lbs (58 kg) not once, but twice. The first time she achieved this was in 2014. She managed to lose the pounds naturally through exercise and dieting, but she admits that she felt constantly hungry.
Her food portion sizes were large and she would go back for seconds, thirds, and sometimes she would just make another additional meal. This relapse made her gain all her weight back and she was tipping the scale at over 260 lbs (120 kg) again.
The second time round she opted for gastric surgery as she despised exercise because she would get a nasty rash every time she sweat, and she also had a problem with her knee. She now weighs 150 lbs (68 kg) and has managed to muster control over her food cravings.
She says, “I feel like I have control over food. I can cook something without feeling the desire or need to eat it.”

Before her amazing weight loss, Katie weighed 280 lbs (127 kg) and suffered from a string of health complications, due to her weight. Doctors told her that she was on the verge of a heart attack in the near future. Her ovaries were enlarging and cysts were developing on them, she was pre-diagnosed for multiple sclerosis (MS), and she was also going temporarily blind in one eye.
She said, the though of not being able to have children one day and the possibility of going blind, was her turning point and she knew that it was time for a change.

Danyeil Durrant had a unhealthy relationship with food since she was a child. She struggled with a food addiction for nearly 30 years, and it almost killed her.
She had tried everything from pills, shakes, injections and even starvation. She admits that she would lose some weight, but then she’ll stop dieting and gain back all the pounds again. She would avoid going out, taking vacations or even meeting potential boyfriends because of her weight. She would spend most of her time watching superhero movies, and eating chips.

She expected to lose 10 lbs (4.5 kg) in her 1st week, but only lost 1.2 lbs (0.5 kg), she was devastated and demotivated, but she didn’t give up and added exercise routines to the mix. She began to spend 2 to 3 hours a night at the gym after work, with her weight loss partner.
After the addition of exercise routines, her weight started peeling off even more, and that motivated her so much that she would to the gym 6 days a week. The results then started coming in fast and she never looked back ever since.
She now weights 150 lbs (68 kg) and enjoys being outdoors, she says, “I no longer find happiness in a bag of chips. I am up with the birds every day, ready to live the life I held myself back from for far too long. I am my own superhero.”

In addition to her new healthy diet, she started going to the gym, and exercised every single day with a personal trainer. 19 months later, she had managed drop her weight down to 145 lbs (65.8 kg). She hopes to lose more weight and eventually have skin removal surgery.
She had this to say about her transformation, “before, it took me 20 minutes to walk a mile and now I can run 5 miles in under 50 minutes. It’s crazy the things I can do now, that I couldn’t do before.”
